As I am sitting down in my garden in this beautiful part of Nouakchott, Mauritania. Enjoying the cool breeze of the Atlantic Ocean and the warmth of being situated, on the Edge of the Sahara… Almost a year after our departure from what I would’ve called “home sweet home” on to this incredible journey that Allah (s.w.t) has blessed me and my family with. I sit and reflect on how He (s.w.t) has made it possible for us to set out on such an honorable and most humbling journey. It’s true how they say:”Everything is part of a plan!” and I always add: “By Allah’s will, WE CAN make this plan happen!!!”

For years, I’ve been wanting to travel abroad. Discussed with DH on numerous occasions, but always seemed like they were just dreams that will come and go… We spoke about going back to Canada or to the UAE. Even Malaysia was considered and along with many other countries. Although they were all just discussions, the prayers and hopes of course, had never come to a halt.

I am Not sure who will be reading this. Not sure if I would want to share it with everyone I know yet. Knowing that it won’t be easy, I strongly feel that the time has come to get writing… Through these writings I will be sharing my experiences of how I see this world around me… And of course the amazing people I meet on a daily basis. Not that my experiences or views are special or different from others but just something I would love to leave for my children and those who matter. Although I would want to share my journey with many in the hope that both parties will benefit, it can be quiet daunting to share one’s inner thoughts. However, I have realized that the courage and strength required to outcome this fear, will come from one being honest. Honesty with oneself is a virtue especially in these modern times where everything seems so real yet so fake…

At the same time, all this blogging and writing about one’s thoughts really makes me think. On how everything we do/say is also being recorded. By The Honorable angels ‘Kiraaman Kaatibeen’. Therefore I pray to Allah (s.w.t) that I say/write only that what will be useful and beneficial for my Deen and Dunya and not to be used against me on the Day of Reckoning.

As for you my dear readers, well I promise you that whatever you will read here as you embark on this journey with me, it will be inshaAllah straight from the heart… May it be used to create homes “That has true knowledge of Allah with an atmosphere of love, forgiveness and lots of laughter. Which in return, will bring healing to our broken world.”
